Alongside partner organisations in Newquay the project "Snapshots in Time" delivered workshops in filmmaking using a smartphone and video editing apps. We powered our session with Youth Art Connect using pedal power, and ran the "Bubble Bike Boogie" on Newquay's Killacourt above the harbour and Towan Beach during the Connecting on the Court event. The final project film was made using mini-films shot and edited during workshops and features poetry from SproutSpoken and dance from Bounce Dance Academy and Newquay Dance Collective.
Watch Snapshots in Time. Filmed and edited by Guy Davies.
The Bubble Bike Boogie was a hit at Connecting on the Court. Two bikes powered a bubble machine and small PA sound system, so people could dance while others pedalled to keep the music and bubbles going.
Participants at Youth Art Connect had a go at pedal power during the filmmaking workshop. We powered a 55 inch TV which showed example films and demonstrations as part of the session.
The first of two screenings at Newquay Museum's Celtic Lounge Cafe on Friday 24th June.
