During the half-term - Sat 10th to Sun 18th, Eden ran their 'Science Spectacular'. Part of this was the 'Discovery Zone' where we set up two bicycles to generate power. The pedal powered generators were able to power various electrical appliances so that visitors could experience how much energy was needed to power them.
We were able to explore how electricity is generated, conservation of energy and the carbon cycle, as well as having conversations about healthy lifestyles and many many conversations led by participating children and their parents about related issues, the climate and employing the kids to power their tellies at home!
Of course, the main emphasis was to have some fun!
